Summary:Romanticism had signicant alteration on Western Literature from the beginning of the 18th century to the second half of the 19th century and reected prominent impression in terms of literary understanding and social life in these periods. It is assumed that the romantic works were at rst seen in German and English Literature but Romanticism was accepted as a worldwide movement in France after French Revolution resulted in chaotic, melancholic and anxious feelings. Even, Urdu prose was inuenced by romanticism in a later time between 1901 and 1935 it had the same affection as its contemporary works in the west. Romantic writers have supported the idea of “art for art” and they changed restrictive Aligarh style into emotional, creative, imaginative, independent one. Thus, sexuality, woman, sensuality, imagination, nature and love has been the main themes of this rebellious movement.
