| Summary: | The objective of this study is to analyze some modes of transportation used in Campos dos Goytacazes in the nineteenth century, in order to discuss the justification of their influence on social class division. Another objective is to analyze the importance of the means of transportation for the culture of the people from Campos in that period. This text is based on the writings of Julio Feydit, Hervê Salgado Rodrigues and Horácio Souza, and on photos from that time provided by the Historical Museum of Campos dos Goytacazes. The method used in the project is the analysis of images associated with the aforementioned theoretical bibliography. |
