Abrasion Resistance and Tensile Behavior of Woven Bi-voltine Silk Fabrics

Description
Summary:Fabric-to-fabric abrasion was carried for soft silk fabrics at dry and wet state under 500 and 1000 cycles and abraded samples were evaluated for bursting strength. Abrasion resistance of soft silk was also evaluated with wool abradant to arrive at the standard abrasion cycle. Yarn samples were removed from the abraded areas of 25%, 50%, and 75% of standard abrasion cycles of soft silk fabrics and then tensile strength was evaluated at dry and wet condition to understand the extent of damage happened due to abrasion.
