description We have moved forward, but certain challenges regarding the approach of the women’s history still remain in various social spheres. In this article, we analyze the approach of  this  history  and  gender  relations  in  the  brazilian  Common  Core for  High  School  (BNCC), through  the  documentary  research  methodology.  First  we  discussed  how  the  women's historical narrative is marked by silence, constituting a social incompleteness. We argue that this  silence  is  a  result  of  interested  selections,  linked  to  the  ways  in  which  women  are positioned discursively and to unequal gender relations. We understand that in the context of a reactionary advance in Brazil, the current curricular changes intensify the silence of women in history and in the school curriculum.
