Ogni paragrafo è costruito attorno ad alcuni importanti interrogativi sorti durante le discussioni con i docenti: Perché bisogna dividere in sintagmi? Come visualizzare la frase con gli studenti? Come si stabilisce se una frase è minima? Che cosa fare con la grammatica tradizionale? In ogni sezione, abbiamo fatto prima chiarezza sui concetti di base implicati nella questione, problematizzando e restituendo una sintesi delle acquisizioni più solide della linguistica, e poi abbiamo illustrato le attività proposte ai corsisti. Il quadro che ne emerge è sicuramente denso, ma, come sottolineiamo nelle conclusioni, è importante per un docente padroneggiare nozioni che vanno al di là di quanto strettamente necessario per le lezioni, al fine di sollecitare il ragionamento degli studenti e procedere con loro, passo dopo passo, alla scoperta del funzionamento della lingua.
Asking the right questions: some reflections on the valency grammar in primary school
This contribution aims to give feedback to primary school teachers who participated in a PD workshop C’è grammatica e grammatica. Each section is based on important questions that arose during discussions with teachers: Why is it necessary to divide into syntagms? How to visualize the sentence with the students? How to determine if a sentence is minimal? What to do with traditional grammar? In each section, we first clarify the basic concepts raised by the question, problematizing and restoring a synthesis of the most solid acquisitions of linguistics, and then we illustrate activities proposed to the students. The picture that emerges is certainly dense, but, as stressed in the conclusions, it is important for teachers to master notions that go beyond what is strictly necessary for the lessons, in order to promote the reasoning of the students and proceed with them, step by step, to discover the functioning of the language. |
