Description
Summary:Biokinetic model is a mathematical model which describes the behavior of the 90Y in human body during the treatment of neuroendocrine tumours. This paper presents calculation of absorbed doses in human organs in biokinetic model 90Y for DOTATOC therapy. For this purpose, the human body is represented by five compartments: blood, kidneys, urinary bladder, tumour and liver. The input file was developed and designed to calculate absorbed doses in human organs, when compartments, as kidneys, liver and tumour, are sources of 90Y. For this purpose, computer software MCNP5/X was used. To solve the system of equations obtained from the model, one data must be taken from the measurements of 90Y in blood or urine. Results obtained, showed that highest absorbed dose is in tumour, compared to other organs in human body.
