Description
Summary:The review highlights the issue of applying virtual reality (VR) technologies in medical rehabilitation of patients with cerebral palsy (CP). This review generalizes the current evidence on the use of virtual reality in restoration of motor and coordination functions, as well as in correction of other diseases associated with motor disorders in patients with CP. The analysis of national and international research shows that at present it is impossible to speak unambiguously about the efficiency of VR in rehabilitation of patients with CP. This is explained by some methodological shortcomings of the analyzed works (small size of the studied samples, lack of control over the results in the long term). However, the use of VR technologies for improving various functions in patients with CP is a promising method of medical rehabilitation.
