Description
Summary:This study aimed to evaluate the antioxidant property of Chavir plant on Japanese quail intoxicated with carbon tetrachloride (CCl4). Eighty, one-d-old Japanese quail chicks were randomly allotted to 4 treatments with 4 replicates and 5 chicks in each, using completely randomized design with 2×2 factorial arrangements including 2 levels of Chavir powder (0 and 1.5 percent) and CCl4 (0 and 1 ml/kg BW). The experimental period lasted 42 d and during this period feed and water were provided ad libitum. At the end of trial, birds (20 for each treatment) were bled through wing vein to determine blood parameters and hepatic enzymes. In addition, liver samples were taken for histology studies. Feed intake and body weight gain at different stages of experiment and feed conversion ratio throughout the experiment influenced by experimental treatments (P
