Summary: | Based on the observation of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) learners' lack of engagement in the distant mode of a blended learning course, an action research plan was devised, which led to re-designing and subsequently implementing the course with a view to fostering learner autonomy and responsibility. The aim of the present study is to analyze distance learning practices in the redesigned course based on a mixed method centered on case studies. Evidence suggests such practices are determined in particular by learners' autonomy skills and motivational profiles. This led us to make suggestions to improve instruction that take both contextual and psychological aspects into consideration. |
