description Background: Implementing technology is of paramount importance in today’s world. It becomes increasingly critical in the medical field, where patients are benefited from the developments of science. The advent of robotics in spinal surgery will propel the field forward, while heightening its accuracy. Observation (s): We report the implementation of a 3-D pre-planning software and use of a robotic arm (ExcelsiusGPS®; Globus Medical Inc., Audubon, Pennsylvania) to put in place a second set of screws at a previously instrumented level without the need for removal of the old screws with no complications and decreased operative time. As far as we know, the use of robotics in spine surgery for this purpose has not been described and this work might fuel further investigation as to the benefits of the technique as well as gaining a more profound understanding of the implications. Lessons: Taking advantage of robotics, revision spine surgery can become faster and more efficient.
