Description
Summary:Dependent on Russian gas imports, the European Union has been trying to diversify its supplies since the Russian-Ukrainian gas crisis of 2009. In Central and Eastern Europe, this policy is resulting in a process of regional integration of gas networks. Planned since 2013, this process has not developed as expected due to the divisions caused by the launch of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project by Gazprom. Thus the external dimension of the energy policy of the Member States has an impact on the internal dimension of European energy policy.
