| Summary: | The article is a brief overview of the digital library activities happening in the last decade in Europe. At first the definitions of the digital library was discussed. Then in the main part of the article the programs and projects on the digital library taking place in Europe are described briefly at three levels, which are digital library activities across Europe, national digital library activities and local digital library activities. In addition to the programs and projects several examples of the conferences and institutions in the field are also given in the article. Finally some conclusions are drawn based on the description above. |
