| description | تستمد جزيرة سقطرى أهمية موقعها الاستراتيجي، من التراکم الجيوبوليتيکي الذي يشکله خصائص کلٌ من؛ الموقع الفلکي، والموقع بالنسبة للبحار والمحيطات، والموقع بالنسبة للمناطق والتکتلات الإقليمية الأخرى (الموقع المرکزي). وتتعاظم هذه القيمة بما تمثله الجزيرة من نموذج فريد لأي جزيرة لازلت محتفظة بطبيعتها الفريدة وتنوعها البيولوجي إلى وقتنا هذا، مما يجعلها بيئة خصبة للإستثمار بشتى أنواعه. کما تتعاظم هذه القيمة أيضًا بسيطرة الجزيرة على الممر الدوليّ البحريّ الذي يربط بين دول المحيط الهندي بدول العالم الاخرى. الأمر الذي جعلها تتمتّع بموقعٍ استراتيجيٍّ وبأهمية وقيمة حضاريّة وسياسيّة في العالم، إضافةً لأهميّتها الاقتصاديّة کونها تُشرف على الطريق الملاحي الواقع غرب المحيط الهندي باتجاه القرن الأفريقي، والمُطل في نفس الوقت على شرق أفريقيا والجنوب الأسيوي. ولا شک في أن الموقع الاستراتيجي للجزيرة، يلبِّي طموحًا عسکريًّا لمن يسيطر عليها، وذلک لما يمکن أن تقدمه القواعد التي قد تقام على مثل هذه الجزيرة، من تسهيلات للتدخل العسکري في دول الإقليم لاسيما المضطربة. Socotra Island derives the importance of its strategic location from the geopolitical accumulation that is formed by the characteristics of each of: Astronomical position, position in relation to the seas and oceans, and position in relation to other regions and regional agglomerations (central position). This value is magnified by what the island represents as a unique model for any island that still preserves its unique nature and biodiversity to our time, making it a fertile environment for investment of all kinds. This value is also magnified by the island’s control over the international maritime corridor that connects the countries of the Indian Ocean with other countries of the world. This made it enjoy a strategic location and cultural and political importance and value in the world, in addition to its economic importance as it overlooks the maritime route west of the Indian Ocean towards the Horn of Africa, which overlooks at the same time East Africa and South Asia. There is no doubt that the strategic location of the island meets the military ambition of those who control it, because of the facilities that may be established on such an island can provide facilities for military intervention in the countries of the region, especially the troubled countries. |
