description Reinstated at the center of geostrategic interests since the beginning of the Russian crisis in 2013, the Baltic space has become the backdrop for multiple and sometimes contradictory geopolitical narratives. Relying on a critical, geopolitical approach, this paper studies the Swedish opposition to the construction of the Pyhäjoki nuclear power plants in Finland, handled by the Russian conglomerate Rosatom. Our case study is then used to identify these geopolitical representations of the Baltic. Our first results show the existence of three narratives presenting the Baltic as an ecologically endangered space, the theater of a “new Cold War”, and an interface between Russia and Europe.
