Description
Summary:In this paper I present a bibliometric analysis of 14 major journals in the fields of ‘Urban studies’ and ‘Geography’, in the period from 1986 to 2015. Major journals were selected on the basis of the com-bined number of citations in Thomson Reuters Journal Citation Reports. In 30 years, a total number of 22,927 articles were published in selected journals. I examine the relationship between the most productive countries/organizations, and the most frequently occurring countries/cities as keywords. The key findings are as follows: English-speaking countries are the most productive countries in the fields of ‘Geography’ and ‘Urban studies’. Universities located in the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada primarily dominate the most productive organisations. The United Kingdom, the United States, and China are the most frequently occurring countries as keywords, and finally, London is the most frequently occurring city as keyword.
