Description
Summary:In this article, I propose to analyse the alternation between the consonants /z/ and /h/ in the Kerlouan/Plouvorn/Saint-Pol-de-Léon triangle, in particular in the communes of Plouescat, Plouvorn and Cléder, where its frequency is the highest, which gives Breton in this area a particular character. First, I will describe the phonetic environment in which this alternation occurs, then I will localise the phenomenon more precisely, before reviewing some value judgements made by speakers on this change of type kazeg>kaheg ('mare'). Before concluding, I will finally place this change in the evolution of the language, from Brittonic to modern dialects of Breton.
