description
The objective of this work is to analyze the provisions against male homosexuality, uncommon in 7th century Western society, which came to light in the Visigothic kingdom of Toledo. Following royal orders, two laws and a conciliatory ruling were enacted in which men were severely punished for having sexual relations with other men. We began our study by providing an introductory section where we attempt to reveal how schools of thought, in Imperial Rome, were imposed condemning same-sex carnal relations. Although a more common practice during Late Antiquity, homosexual sex became disgraceful and was condemned.
