Description
Summary:The societal cost of development of new medications is high. The faster and more economical approach is to use already proven pharmacological characteristics of drugs in use for development of new drug formulations. Reformulation and repurposing processes are more economical. Modulator substances such as ketamine, clonidine and lidocaine represent an obligatory part of multimodal approach in pain therapy. They are ready for those two processes. For decades used in their basic indications, nowadays they are close to become accepted as medicines of last choice in modern approach of pain therapy.
