description Based on the family experience of the director María Ruido, this work aims to shed light on the role of her mother, a Spanish immigrant in Germany in the 1960s and 1970s. The film traces a double journey, the one of a wife and mother (worker), in mirror of her daughter’s one (artist and academic). From this material, the director makes, on the model of the “essay film”, an object of reflection on the imprint that this working mother has left on her. From this atypical relationship, challenged by the absence, is born a questioning about the inheritance, from close relatives and from History at the intersection between these two forms of memory.
