| Summary: | Social protection to the elderly suffered great transformations throughout the twentieth Century. In this paper, we will try to highlight the most significant moments of social protection and help in this matter. We will go from the old Charity to the implantation of the public system of Social Services after the Spanish Constitution of 1978 and its following regulations. We will finish with some reflections on the future of the social protection. We wanted to refer to some old Institutions that settled in Madrid and also to their legal status just because we are in Madrid, the place from this paper will be published. It is also the place where the author has been working, in the field of Social Work, for so many years. |
