Summary:This text analyzes the structure and function of the Presidency’s International department, from the beginning of the democratic process in Spain up to the Popular Party came to power (1976-1996). This department suggests initiatives on foreign policy to the President of the Government and prepares his international agenda, something that has reduced some Foreign Affair Ministry’s limelight. This process of presidentialitation of the Spanish foreign policy has been gradually increased in these period, regardless the color of the different political parties, as in other countries.
