Description
Summary:The n_TOF facility at CERN is devoted mainly to the measurement of neutron-induced reaction cross section of interest for Nuclear Technologies, Astrophysics and Basic Physics. In particular, the list of measurements carried out during the 2nd Phase of experiments n_TOF-Ph2 (2009-2012) includes a significant number of capture and fission experiments on actinides which are considered key for the further development of nuclear reactors. This contribution will contain a description of all these experiments, some of which will be discussed in detail. The future of the n_TOF facility will be also addressed; in particular, the new vertical neutron beam line with a flight path of only 20 m will be presented and the expected performance discussed in detail.
