Description
Summary:—One of the most challenging problems for autonomous mobile platforms is simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM). This problem is solved more or less for a single agent but applying this task for multiple platforms seems to be perspective. Usage of multi-agent SLAM might be very useful in situations when a single platform has not enough computation resources or can be broken or has low quality sensors. Various new issues appear while solving multi-agent SLAM problem, such as constructing of agent hierarchy, choosing of a SLAM algorithm on each agent etc. The goal of this paper is to provide modern multi-agent SLAM approaches survey.
