description Based on documents from Russian and Serbian archives, newspapers from the interwar period and relevant literature, the article deals with the import and broadcasting of Soviet films in the Kingdom of SHS/Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Despite the official government policy that had withheld official diplomatic recognition of the Soviet Union until 1940, the import of films from a socialist state demonstrated that some form of trade and cultural relations between the two countries did exist.
