Summary: | The fertile properties of cervical mucus and the ultrastructure of endocervical epithelium were studied in 50 reproductive-aged women with cervical ectopia and previous history of chlamydial cervicitis (group 1), in 50 patients with ectopia and papillomavirus infection (group 2) and in 30 patients with ectopia without the papillomavirus infection and the history of previous chlamydial infection (a comparison group). A control group consisted of 30 healthy women of reproductive age. It was ascertained that 34% of females of the fist and 40% of the second groups with two-phase menstrual cycle had the altered physicobiological properties of cervical mucus. The detected impairments of cervical mucus are associated with the ultrastructural changes in the cervical epithelium. |
