Description
Summary:This article aims at analyzing the advantages and the flaws presented by the sites containing sound files, meant to help the learners of a foreign language acquire linguistic structures. Due to the multicanality and to the hypertext, the sites reach the interactivity, a feature that is essential in the process of learning a foreign language, differentiating the sites from the “traditional” learning aids. Yet a question arises, urging us to avoid the absolute tendency of overrating the sound-filed sites: how is the coherence engendered and sustained all throughout the multitude of pages reunited under a particular URL address? By analyzing a series of EFL sites, the article proposes several defining elements that a sound-filed site should contain, while tracing the concatenation of the steps that should be taken in a didactic approach.
