description In explaining inequality and social classes, there are different perspectives with different approaches. Marx, as a conflict sociologist, has the greatest contribution in presenting the concept of social class. Given that this phenomenon has been deal with in Nahjul-Balagha, we sought, in this research, to answer the question of whether the concept of class and classes in Nahjul-Balagha is the same as or different from what Marx proposed. In the present study, using content analysis as an inference method, we came to the conclusion that the concept of class and social classes in Nahjul-Balagha, unlike Marx's view, is not based on the means of production and wealth. Rather, it refers to the individuals’ social status and conditions – what the sociologists call “social base”. The common point between Nahjul-Balagha and Marx’s theory is the idea of inequality and social classes. However, there is a difference between them as to what produced inequality and social classes.
