Summary:The lexicographic macrostructure is not merely the arrangement of lemmata, but a structure which applies to the dictionary as a whole. For descriptive purposes, one distinction between the macrostructure of dictionaries is simple and complex macrostructures. On the basis of empirical evidence, suggestions are made in respect of the degree of complexity of lexicographic macrostructures and the interrelationship between or among the macrostructural components.
