Summary: | A great number of dramas which Abdülhak Hamid Tarhan wrote have an important place among his works of art. Five of these works; "Tarık", "İbn Musa", "Tezer", "Nazife" and " Abdullahü’s Sagîr" take their subjects from Andalusia history.
The interest of Hamid in Andalusia history has two reasons; the first one is his tendency to romanticism. He was not only interest in Andalusia history but also wrote so many works about First age and Ancient Turkish History. The second reason is his intelectuel world; he was affected by Panislamist idea of Namık Kemal
and he thought that the foundation of the state depences to Islamic unity.
Hamid argued the Andalusia problem on "character" which is the most suitable notion of drama. In the comparative literature; French Philosophy incorporates studies about literary texts which have cultural objects of another society into the field of study. In this article; the subject of Andalusia that is an important part of Arabian history is discussed in terms of "character" in the works of a Turkish writer Hamid. |
