description The first priority of earthquake relief is to save lives and minimize casualties caused by the earthquake. From the perspective of life rescue in post-earthquake, this paper analyzes the disaster response speed and rescue capability of Yunnan Fire Corps, Dali Fire Detachment and Yangbi Fire Brigade in Yangbi M6.4 earthquake in Yunnan Province, and summarizes the four main characteristics of life rescue: the number of trapped people, distribution characteristics, types of trapped people in urban intensive places and rescue time, which provides a reference for similar earthquake rescue work.
