Description
Summary:The island of Crete, due to the favorable temperate environmental conditions, is known for its high insect species biodiversity. In this contribution we report the occurrence of two cosmopolitan leafhoppers in Crete, Greece, Euscelis ohausi and Euscelidius variegatus, during systematic surveys for Auchenorrhyncha performed from 2017 to 2019. This study represents the first record of these leafhopper species for the island of Crete. Data on their distribution and bioecology on the island are included.
