description The study analyzed the importance of smoking in the appearance of acute coronary events (ACE) on a sample of 865 subjects. For smoking assessment, the status of smoker, duration and frequency of smoking were monitored. Compared to other risk factors, smoking does not show complete reversibility of the possibility of SCA occurrence by cessation of smoking, especially if exposure to cigarette smoke has been for a long time.
