description We have noticed that the students-teachers of the Higher Teacher’s Training College of the University of Maroua (Cameroon) have transformed the French language to appropriate it and work out a sociolecte which identifies them. In this article, we will show that French words and expressions undergo lexico-semantic deviations validated by linguistic processes. Analysis of different encoding techniques, mainly figures of speech, has allowed us to identify idioms whose expressiveness lies in their association with a highly contextualized figurative meaning. In order to achieve our objective, we have gathered data, relying on a sociolinguistic protocol of inquiry based on direct observation of a sample which represents the target-group.
