| description | Defined primarily from their ceramic productions, some cultures and groups of the late Neolithic period in central-western France still remains poor characterized. For some productions, those of the Vienne-Charente group of recent Neolithic (3500-3000 BC) for example, the absence of complex shapes and decorations does not facilitate the establishment of a classification based on typology. This study proposes a technological analysis of ceramics collected in four causewayed enclosures assigned to the Vienne-Charente. We search to clarify the characterization of these productions, detailing each phase of shaping “chaîne opératoire”. Two different technical traditions are identified, which each correspond to a "way of doing" of a group of potters. The tradition that is most represented on all these Vienne-Charente sites is characterized by a minimal technical investment. The other refers instead to the contemporary culture of Peu-Richard. Finally, the interpretation of the coexistence of these two traditions on the study sites are discussed. The circulation of ceramics or the displacement of potters is proposed. |
