Summary:Abstract: This study aims to improve students' motivation and scores in social science through the application of NHT and CF cooperative learning model. There are two cycles in this study with three meetings per cycle. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The data were obtained from the test results, observation sheets, field notes, and documentation. The subjects consisted of 36 students from grade VII Junior High School. The results showed that NHT and CF were able to improve motivation and achievement. It was proved with the increase of motivation in the first cycle 74.03% to 83.34% in the second cycle, so it increased as much as 9.31%. Student’s achievement in the first cycle was 77.78% became 94.44%, it has increased 16.66%. Key Words: NHT, CF, motivation, scores in social science   Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT dan CF. Terdapat dua siklus yang digunakan dalam penelitian tindakan kelas ini dengan tiga pertemuan per siklusnya. Masing-masing siklus terdiri atas perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Data penelitian ini diperoleh dari hasil tes, lembar observasi, catatan lapangan, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri atas 36 siswa kelas VII SMP. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT dan CF mampu meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa. Terbukti dengan perolehan persentase nilai rata-rata motivasi siswa pada siklus I sebesar 74,03% dan meningkat pada siklus II sebesar 83,34% mengalami peningkatan 9,31%. Hasil belajar siswa pada siklus I sebesar 77,78% dan meningkat pada siklus II sebesar 94,44% mengalami peningkatan 16,66%. Kata Kunci: NHT, CF, motivasi, hasil belajar IPS
