The daily contact with the violence and the potential risk to which they are exposed in their daily routines, eventually transformed the concept of urban violence in a representation that articulates part of understanding and of the discussions on the current situation of their places of residence. The concern with the preservation of the physical integrity and property facing the constant expectation to be victim of violent actions, both as a result of the action of common criminals or the police, has culminated in the formation of a pattern of violent sociability in large Brazilian cities. |
