Description
Summary:This article analyses the nationalization of oil sector during the boom of commodities in order to understand Ecuador’s capacity to modify significantly his productive structure. The Citizen Revolution’s government whishes to nationalize the oil sector to invest those resources in the development of industries aiming at diversifying ecuadorian’s productive structure. Nonetheless, we observe that this is conditioned by the international economic context, the diplomatic orientation of the Ecuadorian State, and a set of structural economic limitations. Those elements allow us to understand the economic policy adopted by the Ecuadorian’s government after the end of the commodities boom.
