description Histosol from Mluha, Apuseni Mountains has a surface of over 10 hectares, with a strongly acidic peat character (pH between 3,1 and 3,8), organic matter is farmed from Sphagnum and Polytricum having a fiber character on the surface and hemic-saphric deep. Total stock of peat is estimated to be 475 000 m3 having a thickness ranging between 1.5 and 1.7 m. The vegetation is represented by mosses, lichens and fanenogame and different species of algae in the pools of water. CO2 emissions registered during one day on the whole area of peat land is estimated to be 42888000g.
