description The life of the Kerhorre fishermen was not an ordinary one, it inspired travellers and writers who visited Brittany; an exemplary courage, an immoderate taste for freedom, trying working conditions, an unusual private life made him a character on the fringe of the maritime and peasant circles that one could meet around the roadstead of Brest. This got the imagination going. Very quickly, the Kerhorre enjoyed a certain reputation, sometimes detestable, always overrated. Sixty years after its disappearance, it is still very much alive in the commune and beyond: it is a real process of legend-making that has developed around this community.
