DEGREE OF DECOMPOSITION, CATION EXCHANGE CAPACITY AND ORGANİC MATTER RELATIONSHIPS IN PEATS OF TURKEY

In this research, degree of decomposition, cation exchange capacity (CEC) and organic matter relationships in peats of Turkey taken from 0-20 cm, 20-40 cm and 40-60 cm depths of 14 different regions were investigated. It was determined some correlations between decomposition degree and CEC, and also...

Description
Summary:In this research, degree of decomposition, cation exchange capacity (CEC) and organic matter relationships in peats of Turkey taken from 0-20 cm, 20-40 cm and 40-60 cm depths of 14 different regions were investigated. It was determined some correlations between decomposition degree and CEC, and also between organic matter and CEC. Decomposition increased as CEC and organic matter content increased, and organic matter affected CEC, positively. Those relationships were ascertained by statistical analyses.
