The protective function provided can increase the confidence of breast cancer patients in carrying out their treatment therapy. This study aims to analyze the effect of the family's protective function on the quality of life of breast cancer patients. This study uses correlation analysis using a cross-sectional approach with a population of 77 breast cancer communities in the city of Medan. The sampling technique in this study used purposive sampling of 44 respondents. Analysis of research data using the Fisher exact test. The instrument in this study used a family protection instrument and a quality of life instrument (WHO QoL BREF). Based on the results of the Fisher exact test, shows that the family protection function affects the quality of life of breast cancer patients (p-value0.0001, OR=41.600 and at 95% CI=4.219-410.222). Family support in carrying out family functions, especially protective functions, is very important to improve the quality of life of breast cancer patients. |
