Summary: | Background. A connection that combines the advantages of profile connections
and interference connections is a helical friction profile connection (SFPS) or a connection
of parts having a helical profile of mating surfaces. The properties of the spiral connection of
parts are practically not studied, there are no methods for its design and corresponding regulatory
documentation. The article is devoted to the study of SFPS. Materials and methods. This
article examines the influence of design and technological factors on the functional properties
and stress-strain state of SFPS. Analytical methods and the finite element method are used in
computer simulation. Results. The influence of design parameters on the nominal contact area
of parts is determined. The zones of stress concentration in the SFPS are revealed. Technological
factors that need to be controlled while ensuring the functional properties of SFPS are
considered. Conclusions. When designing SFPS, it is necessary to take into account the design
and technological factors that affect the functional properties of the joints. SFPS can be
recommended for use instead of interference joints, profile and other joints.
