Wedge resection of the right lower lobe was performed with the intention to diagnose the lesion. Pathological examination showed placental transmogrification of the lung. We describe this rare lung disease, which presented with the unusual radiologic findings of a consolidative lesion. Placental transmogrification of the lung should be considered in the differential diagnosis of pulmonary consolidative lesions. |
