Description
Summary:Moisture management is one of the key performance criteria in today’s apparel comfort. It is defined as the ability of a garment to transport moisture away from the skin to the garment’s outer surface. This can be realized in numerous ways, by altering the fiber chemistry through chemical treatment, gents like hydrophilic polymer and amino silicone polyether copolymer. Other advanced methods including micro-denier fiber and its fabric, spacer fabric, multilayer fabric construction employed to improve the moisture management performance through a means of wetting, wicking, and moisture vapor transmission. To do so, some parameter needs to be constant like that of fiber type used and yarn construction in a given textile fabric since absorbency and quick dry of the material. Finally, the performance of the finish is tested and evaluated using the mechanism of wicking, wetting, water absorbency, air permeability, and moisture vapor transfer for different fabric sample. The main finding of the research was how to achieving the optimum comfort property of fabric by controlling moisture management finishing mechanisms.
