Description
Summary:The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze inns and churches of the historical Bucharest, based on diachronic cartography on historical maps from 1789 up to the present. The importance and the spatial development of the inns and churches throughout history were identified using modern GIS techniques for spatial representation. A major goal was to identify connections between churches and inns. Routes and checkpoints of the passersby and inhabitants were established. Results showed that there were strong connections between churches and inns, represented as patterns of the past.
