Summary: | The breath analysis technique is one of the oldest investigation strategies for disease diagnosis and human health monitoring. This strategy explores volatile organic compound (VOCs) present in human exhaled breath (EB) and their organic connection with the biomarkers that helps to determine the particular disease. This examination strategy utilizes a variety of techniques and computerized algorithms for the analysis of the breathing related data to determine the impact of exhaled breath on human bodies. The techniques chosen and applied for the investigation of the exhaled breath in this paper focus on the detection of various chemical compounds in the exhaled breath. The proposed research study also discusses the biomarkers used for clinical examination and diagnosis of the exhaled breath. These non-invasive methods have been adopted over the conventional invasive methods for conducting the study on exhaled breath components and their impact on human health. From the data utilization perspective, this research work focuses on breath examination methodologies and their pros & cons. The state-of-the-art techniques for analyzing the exhaled breath have also been explored and discussed in this paper and an extensive review has also been presented. A brief discussion on the prognosis challenges of the diseases based on exhaled breath are discussed. The limitations of the existing methods are highlighted. Finally, the future scope of the breath analysis techniques is also discussed in this manuscript along with the conclusions of the research study. |
