description Recently, rather high effective maternal-haploid inducers have been created. However, there is a need for their further improvement. New inducers should possess a higher frequency of haploid induction, improved agronomic traits and good expression of marker genes. The selection by plant traits and the expression of marker genes was carried out in a synthetic population created by the recombination of three haploid-inducer lines. 140 plants have been selected and self-pollinated. The frequency of haploid induction in the selected plants ranged from 0 up to 14%. For further improvement, was selected 8 plants, which demonstrated a higher frequencies of haploids than check - line MHI, a good expression of marker genes and agronomic traits.
