The vertical extrapolation of wind energy was based on the power law expression. On the western coasts and islands, the annual natural wind energies at 50 m above ground lie between 500 and 1500 kWh-m-2 and on the eastern coasts and islands between 500 and 8000 kWh-m-2. For the mountainous areas of Greece, good sites for wind machines might exist in the elevated eastern and western exposed parts of Greece. |
