| Summary: | <p>To mark European Day of Mediation, the UOC’s Law and Political Science Department and its coordinator for the conference, Aura Esther Vilalta, organised a commemorative event about family mediation in the field of International Child Abduction. Carmen Varela, a founding member of Circulo Legal, a family mediator and a member of the Association of Professionals in International Child Abduction Spain ("ASIME"), gave a talk about the problems caused by the break up or separation of families whose members are from different countries and have underage children, a complex situation which legal practitioners know little about.</p>
