description | Aconitum quelpaertense Nakai is an endemic species of Jeju Island of South Korea. Here, we characterized complete chloroplast genome sequence of A. quelpaertense and inferred its phylogenetic position within the genus Aconitum. The complete chloroplast genome was 155,636 bp in length with typical quadripartite structure. Length of large single copy was 86,695 bp, whereas small single copy was 17,087 bp. A pair of inverted repeats were 25,927 bp. In total, 128 genes were encoded and comprising 83 protein-coding genes, 37 tRNA genes and eight rRNA genes. rpl32 and rps16 genes were pseudogenized in this plastome. The phylogenetic analysis based on complete chloroplast genome sequences showed that A. quelpaertense was closely related to another endemic species of South Korea, A. pseudolaeve. |
